The Hamilton Military Museum has numerous exhibits that focus on local military heroes. The museum has displays ranging from a military button collection to Buffalo Soldier memorabilia.
While visiting the park, take the Walk of Education, a path forming the shape of a Congressional Medal of Honor. Highlighted along the walk are 16 markers commemorating each conflict in which the U.S. has been involved since 1775.

The Veterans' Memorial Park is a tribute to all Veterans and the wars in which they served.
Grab your picnic basket and visit the park named for the game show host of "Truth or Consequences". The park has a gazebo, shade trees, and picnic tables. Play a game of basketball. Traveling with young children, take them to the park for some fresh air and fun on the playground. Older children and teens can enjoy the Skate Park. Free WIFI internet is available to parkgoers.
The park features a small lake.
Stop by Ralph Edwards Park on Saturday mornings from May-October, for the Sierra County Farmers Market.
Bring your furry, friend to the Carole Wheeler dog park. This is an off-leash dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. Have a dog that needs less stimulation and more supervision? There’s an area for them too. Your dog can get some exercise is the grass while you enjoy beautiful views of Turtleback Mountain and the Rio Grande river. Please note, you will need proof of rabies vaccine.

Like to fish? Cast your line in the Rio Grande. Jump in your vehicle and head at Elephant Butte or Caballo Lake. Just don't forget to buy your fishing license.
